time for a new yr and school. been to douglas 2 days ago and registered for my courses for the jan to april term. good thing is i can take away any of them and add new ones when i want to. this time round there are some new rigs in school like a roland v-drum high end kit and baby grands for practice rooms. looks like i'll spent lotsa time in school. one whole level of music classrooms, practice rooms and professional recording studios and all the rigs everything.
registered audio engineering part 1(figured would be great for song writing and recording) and private drumset courses taught by mr caldwell whom ive met a couple of times including on that day and is really a friendly and exprienced duude. took the time and sat down to talk to me about which are the courses thats more for becoming a music teacher and which ones for sessionists and performers with more practical techniques and knowledge. also gave me advises and ideas for prospects. tought id wait till next term in september to add the theory and song writing courses and before that id just revise with the books ive got. summer vacation's from april to august. hopefully when the 2 drummers for the school jazz enssemble leave in sep, i could take over like he says. theres several projects that i'll be doing, few recordings to be done and graded.
something new now. finally, professional music courses. just like how i alway wanted it. couldnt ask for more. im down with this.
getting my new kit in a week or so, after the hassles of getting it and the seperate parts on ebay. remo heads, stands, cowbell, holders, pedals etc. learned one thing though thats always get stuffs from long and mcquade coz tomlee would rip u off another 20% of the price. yeah happened to me i bought a stand for 110+ and mcquade sells 80+ which surprised me cuz its huge price difference for 2 local dealers. got my refund at least after letting them call mcquade to do price check. and there was a compensation as well. they've got a policy that when u see a lower price anywhere they would refund u the diff plus extra 25% of the diff so at least they have something good. (maybe thats just how everyone else gets stuffs cheapest lol)cool thing is here every purchase can be refunded no qns asked, most stores within 7 days and even 30 days for some. mom suggested the keyboard was prolly cheaper at mcquade so we might get a compensation but too bad same price lol.
and getting my license in a mth or 2 or so, probably lol. at least im done reading the theory book, a book full of turd. later homies.
